5 STAR BOOKS with killer illustrations

Book review of Window by Jeannie Baker
Window by Jeannie Baker This word-less tale shows the transformation of one place (as viewed through a window) over time. The collage illustrations are really fantastic, and the pictures are extremely intriguing. I could "read" this story over and over and discover new things to look at each time.
Book review: The Curious Little Witch
When a little witch's broomstick breaks, she has to explore the huge house where she crashed, looking for some help. The story is good, but the illustrations steal the show in this book. Different sized page flaps fold back to reveal each room from the inside and the outside. Each room contains enough details to keep a child happily exploring them for quite some time.
What happens when a restaurant owner won't let pets into his restaurant? The illustrations are the star of this story, adding a whole plot of their own.

This story is told almost entirely using sounds you would hear during a normal day on the farm. The story is sweet and simple, and the illustrations are phenomenal.
