Our Weekly Favorite:
Title: Huggly Takes a Bath
Author/Illustrator: Tedd Arnold
Summary:
"Huggly wants to do the things that human children do. But it's never as easy as he thinks! In this book, Huggly goes exploring in search of snacks. Ah! The bathroom looks like a good place to try! Everything in there is so interesting- especially the tub, where Huggly has lots of bubbly fun! "
Why I Loved it:
- This book is hilarious! I was laughing out loud as I read it.
- I love that the "monster under the bed" is named Huggly.
- Apparently, there is a whole Huggly series- I can't wait to read more!

Author/Illustrator: Tedd Arnold
Another winner! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that it was a bit rhyme-y for me. (The characters' names all rhymed.) The storyline was good, though, and I loved the ending!

Title: Dirty Gert
Author/Illustrator: Tedd Arnold
The idea of a girl turning into a plant is a bit disturbing, but the rhymes were non-typical and fantastic.
|
|
Title: Roar of a Snore
Author/Illustrator: Marsha Diane Arnold
Predictable storyline- nothing too special.
|
Title: Meow!
Author/Illustrator: Katya Arnold
Pretty typical animal-sound book. I didn't find it particularly interesting.
|
|
Title: Coyote Raid in Cactus Canyon
Author/Illustrator: Jim Arnosky
I thought this was going to be a tragic tale of an innocent animal getting eating by a predator. That would have been bad, but the dull storyline when nothing really happened was only slightly better.

|
Title: Babies in the Bayou
Author/Illustrator: Jim Arnosky
This book was written in the style of a non-rhyming poem. Not my favorite.
|
|
Title: The Twin Princes
Author/Illustrator: Tedd Arnold
I thought this story was pretty amusing, but the main riddle that the story was based on wasn't really that sound.
|
|
Title: A Pet for Fly Guy
Author/Illustrator: Tedd Arnold
I thought this story was pretty silly, but my baby LOVED all of the buzzing Z words- she couldn't stop laughing! So I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.
